Ashwin started his professional career in academia. After obtaining a BA in History at the Catholic University of Louvain, he pursued an MA in Celtic Languages and Culture at Utrecht University and went on to earn a Ph.D. in Celtic and Comparative Historical Linguistics at Aberystwyth University (Wales, UK) in 2005. After several years of academic research and teaching in Wales, Germany and the Netherlands, Ashwin transitioned into executive search.
He joined RB Selection (an Odgers Berndtson company) in 2010 and became Head of Research at Odgers Berndtson Belgium in 2015, leading the research team and overseeing executive search assignments from market mapping to shortlist presentation. Since September 2025, he has been working as Senior Search Consultant for Odgers Belgium and the Netherlands, further strengthening his expertise in executive search and talent identification while expanding his experience in the Dutch market. With more than 15 years of executive search experience, he has built trusted relationships with clients and candidates both in Belgium and internationally.
In September 2026 Ashwin joined Cross International to contribute to our continued growth and international ambitions. He combines business development with the execution of executive search assignments across a broad range of sectors. Combining extensive search experience with a strong academic background, and having lived and worked internationally for several years, he enjoys tackling challenging assignments and building long-term relationships with both clients and candidates. He is known for his clear communication style, strong analytical mindset, and ability to quickly understand complex leadership profiles. In addition to Dutch, he is fluent in English and has an excellent command of French and German.
Away from work, Ashwin is passionate about cars, mobility, and driving. He also enjoys cooking and is always keen to experiment with new flavours and combinations.
